About Us

Mountview Lodges is a family-run business with eight properties on Croft 70 in Baddidarroch, Lochinver. This particular branch of the MacLeod family tree has occupied this croft and much of the surrounding area for as long as records are available, with speculation that they were probably in Assynt when Ardvrek Castle was erected in the 1400s.

Because of this rich history and heritage, the businesses are treated as a legacy more than business, and as such great pride is taken to ensure their upkeep and continuous improvement.

Ideally situated for both sea-loch and river fishing, coastal walks or mountain treks, and with opportunities to view various wildlife, including Golden Eagles, Sea Eagles, Seals, Otters, and Dolphins, our holiday properties are the ideal get-away for the outdoor enthusiast or those who seek peace and relaxation amidst stunning scenery. The properties all have hot tubs spread out from the water’s edge up the hill, all with the most incredible uninterrupted views across the bay and over to the Assynt Mountain Range. They provide a tranquil haven as a base for walkers, anglers, and wildlife enthusiasts.

Our smaller properties are the perfect stopover for your travels since we are ideally located for a break on Route NC 500 (North Coast 500): more than 500 miles of the best beautiful coastal routes the North Highlands has to offer. The route runs to and from Inverness, venturing around the capital of the Highlands, up the West Coast, and back via the rugged north coast.
